Important Notes

  • Travel Documents: All passengers must hold a passport with a minimum validity of 06 months and a printed copy of their approved Kenya eTA.
  • Visa and Entry Requirements: All international travelers are required to apply for the Kenya Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) at least 72 hours before departure, as visas are no longer issued on arrival.
  • Health and Vaccination Protocols: It is mandatory to carry a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate for entry into Kenya, and we strongly advise consulting a healthcare professional regarding malaria prophylaxis before your trip.
  • Baggage and Packing Guidelines: Due to the limited storage space in safari vehicles, we strictly recommend using soft-sided duffel bags rather than hard-shell suitcases to ensure all luggage fits securely.
  • Check-in and Check-out Times: Standard hotel check-in is typically at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM; any requests for early arrival or late departure are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
  • Currency and Gratuities: While US Dollars are widely accepted for larger purchases, we suggest carrying small denominations of Kenyan Shillings for local markets, tips for safari guides, and incidental expenses.
  • Wildlife Conduct and Ethics: To preserve the natural ecosystem, travelers must adhere to park regulations, which include remaining inside the vehicle during game drives and refraining from feeding or disturbing the animals.
  • Weather and Seasonal Clothing: Morning and evening game drives can be quite chilly even in the summer, so we recommend packing layers, including a warm fleece or jacket, as well as a hat and high-SPF sunscreen for the midday sun.
  • Operational Adjustments: Bayard Vacations reserves the right to modify the sequence of the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances such as extreme weather, road conditions, or changes in national park regulations.
